Travel tips in Australia.
SWIMMIMG AT AUSTRALIA'S BEACHES
For a hot day on the beach, take some shoes, because when it is hot, the sand can really hurt, oh yes. Cover your feet properly, some beaches maybe a 200 meter plus walk, OUCH!  Little tents are becoming more popular, specifically designed for the beach. Besides a tent or a towel don't bring that what you can't take into the water (you may need a pouch), that includes the car park.
For your safety, Australia's main beaches are patroled by lifesavers, and "flags" are used to designate safe swimming areas for the public. A "rip" or "current", is a strong current of water that travels away from the shore very quickly & can run for up to more than a kilometer away! A rip is caused by gutters underneath the water's surface which can channel the water. Always choose a beach with flags, not a beach without flags. If there are no flags or lifesavers, & you have to go in, be careful, get advice from more than one local you trust (eg. local dangers like Jelly Fish, etc)
Reduce your exposure to direct sunlight whenever possible, especially if you are not used to it.
If / when the flies annoy you, get a piece of rope and flick it over your shoulder, while also watch out for others around you (their eyes).

Dont go hiking without properly preparing. Water is an essential in the Australian bush & beach, heck you may even stumble on a thirsty Koala, nothing could suprise me now! Let someone know where you plan to go, & your next option, (plan B) in case you change your mind.

A great idea if you are visiting a foreign language speaking country is to  practice commonly used wordssuch as,
Please, Thankyou, Yes, No, Hello, Goodbye, how much?, too much, deal/ sold, What time is it ?
Even though you may not be hitting the right word, when you  combine this with hand gesturesthe chances are that they will catch on to what you are saying. Certain words will be easier to combine, like, what is the time ?, when you can simply point at your wrist.
